Lublin is the biggest city in eastern Poland, which was settled as early as in the Middle Ages. Before the Second World War it was home to a large Jewish community. The Jewish population was exterminated in the Nazi concentration camp at Majdanek, near the city center.
You are going to see the Old Town with its impressive Kraków Gate – one of the three gateways to the Old Town and the Lublin Castle, where the biggest attraction is the gothic Chapel of the Holy Trinity with sets of medieval frescoes. The frescoes are rare examples of the early Slavic-Byzantine church art.
For those who are more interested in the Jewish history of Lublin, we can arrange a tour focusing on sites connected with it, including: the old Jewish Cemetery, prewar yeshiva, the Jewish hospital, the old ghetto district.
At the end you will visit Majdanek Memorial, where you will see the camp itself as well as the museum.
